Project Title: The Fight Against
Project Overview: The Fight Against is a promotional campaign for a John Heartfield exhibition. The exhibition focuses on his anti-Nazi propaganda prior to and during World War II, and as such, contains very bold and powerful images that I wanted to evoke in the promotion of the exhibition. The colors are monochromatic and earthy, while the typographic treatments carry the rustic and broken qualities of Heartfield’s images. Deciding which of Heartfield’s vast body of work to include and how to make those images work within the format as well as the design was the largest problem I needed to solve.
